Abstract
The prerequisites for the creation of the First Katerynoslav commercial college and the main directions of its development in 1901–1917 are explained. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the first stage of the formation of the college (June 1899 – June 1901), when the basic organizational issues were resolved. They were related to the opening of the college: the merchant society was created, the Board of Trustees was elected, a special charge of guild and industrial certificates on college was introduced, a plot of land was given and the construction of the premises started, the Statute of the College was approved and its Director was appointed. On the consideration of the activities of the College on the second stage the main formation of the teaching staff, organization of the educational process, development of material resources, funds sources: income from industrial and trading fees, tuition fees and charitable contributions are described. Special attention is paid to the activities of the Trusteeship Council and the pedagogical Committee of the school.
